NASHVILLE, Tenn., Apr. 26, 2021 – The Board of Directors of the Tennessee Business Roundtable (“the Roundtable”) is pleased to announce the election of Ms. Van Tucker, President & CEO of Launch Tennessee, Nashville to the member office of Secretary effective immediately for the remainder of the 2020-2021 term.
“Under Van’s leadership, Tennessee’s entrepreneurial sector is rapidly emerging as one of the most dynamic and innovative segments of our state’s business community,” said Roundtable 2020-2021 Chair Matt Kisber, Chairman of the Board of Nashville-based Silicon Ranch Corporation. “By welcoming Van to our member leadership team, our Roundtable not only gains the knowledge and perspectives of a respected, diverse Tennessee business leader, but also a new avenue through which Tennessee’s entrepreneurs can both contribute to and gain from our organization’s efforts to enhance our state’s vibrant economic climate,” Kisber added.
Elected on April 23 by the Roundtable Board, Ms. Tucker serves as chief executive of Roundtable member Launch Tennessee (“LaunchTN”), a public-private partnership which aims to make Tennessee the most startup-friendly state in the nation and to stimulate Tennessee’s statewide economy by facilitating capital formation, market building and nurturing the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. In her top leadership role, Ms. Tucker supports LaunchTN’s mission and vision of making Tennessee the best state in the nation for startups by empowering a network of resources across the state. Her prior roles at the organization included serving as Interim CEO and as Chief Operating Officer.
“Launch Tennessee works every single day to connect business creators throughout our state with the knowledge, capital and other resources they need to bring their innovative products and services to scale and to market,” said Tucker. “I am excited to be able to bring the needs, priorities and perspectives of Tennessee’s entrepreneurs to the leadership of one of our state’s most-respected business organizations. In joining my fellow Roundtable Officers in working to optimize the quality of life and well-being of all Tennesseans, I’m eager to help our state’s entrepreneurs engage actively in that important work.”
Ms. Tucker’s election fills the unexpired portion of the 2020-2021 Secretary term vacated by Mary Beth Hudson, a former Vice President of Charleston, Tenn.-based Wacker Polysilicon North America, upon Hudson’s departure from the company in late January. Wacker remains a Roundtable member company.
